More Wizardry With PocketWizards

The folks at PocketWizards have recently introduced some great new gadgets.   Now you can use their wireless technology to fully control your off-camera flash including full E-TTL II support!   This is a big leap forward for PocketWizards!

Check out their new FlexTT5 and MiniTT1 radio slaves, featuring their new ControlTL system.

The MiniTT1 is a transmitter that you can mount onto your camera to wirelessly control an off-camera flash attached to a FlexTT5.  You can also mount a flash on top of the MiniTT1 as well.   Currently they offer support for Canon, but they say Nikon i-TTL support will be available in Q2, 2009.

Whle the MiniTT1 is only a transmitter, the FlexTT5 goes both ways, as a transceiver.  That means you can use it as a receiver connected to your flash, or you can mount it on your camera’s hot shoe and use it as a transmitter.   The capabilities are fantastic, supporting high-speed sync, wireless E-TTL II, and a USB interface for more advanced configuration of the device.
